A Colbert Christmas was on tonight… and I kinda enjoyed it heaps.
But that’s not my point, my point is Feist.
I haven’t really thought about her in a lifetime (in blog terms that’s about 18 months) but the thing is… she’s good… really, really, good.  The fact of the matter is - despite that she’s gone from quiet little secret to marketing fodder for everything from electronics to perfume - she’s a talent.  A serious force.  She can sing the fuck out of a parody about being on hold with an angel or a Bee Gee’s cover or one of her own original tracks.
I realize that this post might be treading on Captain Obvious territory, but it’s kinda refreshing hearing her again for the first time in a bit… completely out of the context of hearing her at a mall retailer her near you.
Leslie, you had me at hello.  Which, if I recall correctly, was You Forgot In People back in early 2003 at the Mac Hall Ballroom.
Also, since me and Feist grew up in the same neighbourhood, I have this silly parallel universe fantasy where her and I used to hang at The Ship & Anchor sipping pints, exchanging bon monts and subtle glances… but that’s neither here nor there.
