CBC: Occupy Vancouver's Draft List of Demands
You guys (in the context of this post “you guys” is Occupy Vancouver)…
- You don’t get to have an “ever evolving” list of demands. That’s not how lists of demands work. Take a position and stick with it so others can address it.
- Prescription heroin? A 9/11 investigation?
- If you’d like this wildly diverse list of demands to be taken seriously, create an addendum where you explain what specific result you expect to happen by having a demand met. Tell everyone what success looks like. Also, tell everyone what you’re willing to give up in order to have a demand met (e.g. trade offs between affordable food vs organic food)
To be clear, I believe that the general, multinational #OWS movement has merit. I believe that this published list is insane and/or embarrassing.
