HOLY SHIT REALLY? I think it's fucking wonderful. You are clearly insane.

Also, I was thinking about GHHVW the other day... we'll see how I'm feeling next week. — Asked by theaestheticcurator

RE: That Coolio song that was on the Dangerous Minds soundtrack

It’s true, I really, really, hate Gangsta’s Paradise. I hate even more than anything done by Bone Thugs ‘N’ Harmony… and I really fucking hate those dudes.  Here’s why:

  • That synthy violin line sounds like stabbing sounds.  I remember there was a DJ that used to play at a bar I used to back then, he’d do this routine where he’d loop the violin over and over.  He’d do this every night he played.  Infinite stabbing sounds!
  • Michelle Pfeiffer.  Acting tough.  In a leather jacket.
  • “Power in the money, money in the power / Minute after minute, hour after hour” <— Garbage.
  • Coolio being waaaaay out of character.  He’s not a tough guy, he’s not a conscious rapper.  He does party jams.  Yes, I realize the “Gangsters Paradise” single sold well over 5 million copies world wide, but he was posing pretty hard in this song.

Regardless, to each their own.  And I’m a big fan of Coolio’s cook book. (Note: I have never cooked a thing from his cook book).
