Beastie Boys “So What’cha Want” ft. The Roots
I was going to make some sort of snarky joke about the Beastie Boys settling into their roles as elder statesmen of hip hop. But upon further thought, I really think these guys are aging gracefully… as far as musicians go. This performance doesn’t have half the punch of the original version… but that’s ok. Faux-urgency from 45 year old rappers would never sound good.
I guess what i’m trying to say is MCA, go ahead with your bad self… and fancy trench coat, and sensible pants, and grey hair combed into a respectible style.
