Yo! This weekend I made that Black Coffee Ice Cream recipe that made the rounds recently. GOOD GRIEF, highly recommended.

Because I’m a sucker for extra work I used cardamom coffee and fresh Lebanese cream cheese from this random Mediterranean market in my neighborhood (sidebar: after living in my new neighborhood for 6 months, I’ve finally figured out what makes it good… authentic ethnic food, it’s just no one will tell you where to find it) the resulting ice cream was super rich.  It kinda had a dry aftertaste similar to what you’d feel after knocking back a shot of espresso, the cardamom gave it a sweet chai-like kick, but there was also this neutralizing fresh, creamy finish.  I don’t know if that last sentence makes things sound gross, but I assure you it was DEEPLY DOPE AND MAGICALLY DELICIOUS.

Anyways, swing over to my place this week if you want some.  I really don’t need to knock back 2 pints of this stuff by myself.

Posting gushing commentary on the internet about Community the morning after it airs is completely pointless at this point - but, guuuuuuys - last night’s episode may end up being the best 30 minutes of comedy I’ll ever see on network TV in my lifetime. (Fuck understatement, right?!)

My understanding is that last week’s episode was supposed to be the big, over the top, conceptual statement for the season… but come on, the execution of the homage was flawless/a total masterpiece.

Ughhh… I get so conflicted when some of my favourite dudes remix some of my least favourite dudes.

I realize that this is a throwaway photo from an article about Klout and how its ridiculous, fuzzy math, scoring algorithm potentially has IRL impacts but I think it’s profound and maybe even art.

Flock of Dimes - Replica

Jenn Wasner (Flock of Dimes, and half of Wye Oak) wants to be a songwriter for others, and this is her song for Robyn. It’s really weird to hear her voice singing this kind of pop song after getting used to haunting songs like Wye Oak’s “Mary is Mary,” but that doesn’t make this song any less great.
