Home now...
Wow. After the world’s biggest commute we’re home now. Well, actually we’re in Regina. There’s something surreal about waking up in Hong Kong and going to bed in Regina the same day.
Jetlag is winning the war right now, so here’s some very brief highlights of our travels since I last posted:
Lots more beach lounging and the like in +35 heat. This was good.

Honeymoon update #3
Things are still all good. I’m typing this literally from the Thailand/Laos border. Tk and I have spent the last 3 days on scooters trekking across the Chiang Rei/Mai province/area (bear with me, my geography isn’t perfect right now). It’s actually been really cool, we’ve covered 100’s of Kilometers on the scooters, and been in really rural spots.
Our time up...
Honeymoon update 2: all good in Chiang Rei
Greetings from Northern Thailand. I am writing you from the weirdest bar in the world. The owner is running around singing along to Paradise City, doing full Axel Rose moves. He weighs 10lbs. I am sitting on a mat on the floor, drinking Jack Daniels. Obviously. This is how Tk and I choose to celebrate our honeymoon.
Actually, it’s real good up here. We’ve been very literally...
Hong Kong = All Good
Honeymoon update: we made it to Hong Kong with zero issues. Day 1 was bonkers, we got to the hotel at about 9am, dropped off the bags and then hit the city until jet lag got the best of us (5:15pm, to be exact).
Hong Kong feels like Vancouver… but with 10x the population layered over it. This isn’t a bad thing… just kinda dense and perhaps happily insane.
Ok, less typing more...

Attempts in planning ahead...
I’m about to spend a month a way from my laptop… which means no new music on the iPod until next year. Because of this, I’m trying to make a million perfect playlists, catering to every little obscure musical fetish whim that may pop up at a moment’s notice while I’m away. I’ll be dammed if I buy a bootleg CD in a drunken stupor, because that’ll require...
The new look of Google Reader is kinda ugly...
May I suggest helvetireader to restore GR back to a clean state?

The Stranger wrote a post about Parklife debating if it’s a joyous or seething album. Nerdy, but great.

While reading this article about hollywood studio logos, I learned the company motto of MGM is “Ars Gratia Artis” which means “Art for Art’s Sake.”
This is no way explains the production of Van Wilder Deux: The Rise of Taj.

CBC’s Neil Macdonald explains the current Canadian political “crisis” for Americans. And me (who is WAY out of the loop) everyone because unexpected rapidly disintegrating democracies are the new hotness for Dec ‘08.

No… no… no… Edmonton Sun. How many times do you have to be reminded, Facebook group registration trends aren’t actually (1) a barometer of the Canadian psyche, (2) meaningful/important.
I realize it’s getting towards the end of the work day and you’re feeling a little lazy, but this lame even by your standards.
